“The Dream Continues”
Questions and Answers
Q. What is
“The Dream Continues”?
A. “The
Dream Continues” is our
opportunity to take advantage of all that the Lord has given us by increasing
the influence of Christ in the lives of everyone in Scott County and the
surrounding areas. The purpose of this Ministry Expansion is to encourage
people to willingly grow in the grace of giving – without coercion or pressure.
As each of us grows in the grace of giving, God can use us to accomplish His
will for His church, and use us to meet the needs of our community and future
generations for Christ.
Q. What is
the plan?
A.
Recently the Ministry Expansion Team
and the church staff have established a plan for a 14,250 sq/ft building
expansion on the north side of our existing facility. It will serve as a
Children’s Learning Facility during the week, and as our Children’s Ministry
area on the weekends. We will renovate 6,000 sq/ft of our existing building to
include a commercial size kitchen to compliment the dedicated space for the
Fellowship Atrium. This will be a great asset for our dinners, wedding
receptions, small groups, etc. Also included in the plan is a separate
Community Outreach Facility with 5,000 sq/ft of covered space, stone fireplace,
warming kitchen, fry area and restrooms.
Q. What is
the expected timeline?
A. We
plan to start construction in Fall, 2007, and begin use of the facility in
August, 2008.
Q. What is
the cost of the Ministry Expansion building project?
A.
The initial estimate for
construction of the Children’s Learning Center, Fellowship Atrium, and Community
Outreach Facility is $1.75 million dollars. As the theologian, John Henry
Jowett, once said, “Ministry that cost nothing, accomplishes nothing.”
